UCCW Bowling Team
The UCC Bowling Team is one of the founding teams of the Norwalk Church League. Started in 1941, the league's purpose is to promote fellowship between members of different denominations. The other teams currently in the league represent Community Baptist Church of Norwalk, the Darien YMCA, First United Methodist Church of Norwalk, and Zion Hill United Methodist Church of Wilton. We compete Wednesday nights starting at 9:00 PM at Nutmeg bowl in Fairfield from September through May. A banquet is held in June for the presentation of the team and individual trophies.
Our team line-up over the years has included: J. Howard Anderson (a charter member of the league), Don Shanks, Bob Iannotti, Jeff Koenig, John Anderson, Victor Greene, Helge Svenson and Pastor Eric Hillabrant. Anyone wishing to bowl with us would certainly be welcome. The only requirements are that you must be at least 16 years old, able to pay $12 per night of bowling, and have a sense of humor.
