Eric R. Hillabrant, Pastor
Pastor Eric Hillabrant has served United Covenant Church since August 1998. He was raised in the Evangelical Covenant Church in Iron River, MI. Pastor Eric was in ministry in the early 1980s with Covenant Players, an interdenominational Christian drama ministry based in Southern California. Following eighteen months with Covenant Players, Pastor Eric attended North Park University, the Covenant denomination's university in Chicago, IL. He earned a BA in communication arts and theater. After college Pastor Eric began working in the convention and hotel business in Chicago. He also worked in a variety of theaters in the Chicago area.
In the early 1990s, Pastor Eric again felt God's call to ministry. He entered North Park Theological Seminary and, through the guidance of the faculty, found God's call to be genuine. Upon completion of studies in Chicago, Pastor Eric was called to be interim pastor at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Floral Park, NY on Long Island. Following a year of service there he was called to United Covenant Church in Wilton. Pastor Eric was ordained by the Evangelical Covenant Church in June 2000.
Connecticut and the tri-state area have quickly become home for Pastor Eric. He is involved with several ecumenical organizations, including the Wilton Clergy Association, the Connecticut Ecumenical Small Church Project, and the Institute for Religious Education and Pastoral Studies at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. Pastor Eric also serves the denomination as secretary of the East Coast Conference Board and as a member of the East Coast Conference Christian Formation Commission. In addition to professional associations, Pastor Eric has enjoyed the cultural opportunities of southwestern Fairfield County and enjoys meeting many new friends.
